I have developed this skin myself and feeling much happy of this achievement. Now at the moment, I have two thesis skins that  are based on thesis framework and coded by myself. I was in need of a theme that is light and beautiful. Without using heavy image files and with help of CSS I made this happen.

Google is also considering the website speed in Page Ranking, so developing a light weight skin was unavoidable. Current theme has all these features,

1. Light weight theme,
2. Used CSS for theme design,
3. Used only two image files; one for background and second for button and navigation bar effects. Size of files is just 20KB in total. Awesome,
4. Logo file is just 17KB size,
5. Super clean CSS file having size of only 13.1 KB now,
6. Most amazingly, I have custom function file of 9.41 KB, having all necessary code for my customized use and to reduce the need of plugins.
7. Built in Breadcrumbs
8. Built in Second navigation and widgetized footers with three columns.
9. Custom short code feature to add Google AdSense at any time in your post by just entering AdSense keywords,
10. Added ad in header,
11. Added code for Lazyload (Currently disabled due to problem with sidebar ads that are below fold, trying to fix it with some other event trigger or some other solution)
12. New skin is specially optimized for Google AdSense integration,
13. No use of skin admin or options panel to reduce need for PHP coding. This setting made my site faster and lighter, as there are no additional SQL queries and PHP calls.
14. Due to reduced SQL queries and PHP function (like bloginfo function), server resources are less utilized.
15. Rotating side bar ads without any plugin
16. My new skin is 100% HTML validated and passed after strict tests.

After adjusting all these settings and freeing thesis skin from control panel, just have a look at improvement in site loading speed as per Google Labs option in Web Master tools,

Another test conducted through pingdom tools showed that almost 1.084 Mb data loading in just 5.7 seconds, thats awesome.

I am increasing my thesis learning curve and soon will offer a free skin based on thesis framework to three thesis users who contact me in person. Actually I am starting thesis skinning service that will be tailor made according to requirements and will be much lighter. One sample of my work is live in shape of my site.

Let me polish the second skin and then I will offer it to three persons. My aim is to test how much efforts it will need to properly make it live on customers’ site and providing after sale service.

In our article of adding image to teaser, we have addressed two issues;

• Automatically resizing of image according to thumbnail size,
• Showing same image twice in the post,

If you take benefit from Thesis image resizing feature of image then you have second problem as I listed. Same image is shown two times in your articles. We have also solved that problem is that article.

But again, here is problem of showing same image two times in…. guess in what. Yes your RSS feed shows same image two times. We have received a request to address this issue. Though we have showed the code to remove duplicate image in our earlier article, but again in this article we are giving the code to remove the duplicate image from your article as well as from RSS feed. So let’s have the code to address the both of issues;

Adding this code to custom.css file of thesis theme will remove the duplicate image issue in the posts,

/*Remove duplicate image from article*/

.post_image { display:none !important; }

While this piece of code needs to be added to custom_function.php file resulting in removing duplicate image in RSS field.

By adding these codes to their respective files, you have flexibility of showing your thumbnails in any size without cropping them.

With use of thesis, All in One SEO and Platinum SEO like plugins are no more needed but in 1.7 version of thesis, insane features of SEO are introduced along with other tons of new feature. Lets discuss them one by one.

Thesis 1.7 version has two new options in Thesis theme control panel.

After these major additions, thesis theme author further enriched the comments section of the theme. Now you have more control over comment box features like avatar size and display order of trackback and comments.

301 Redirect for Affiliates:-

A very interesting feature of 301 redirection has been introduced in Thesis 1.7, which means that you got rid of ugly affiliate links and ads. Simply create a new blank page and add your affiliate link in “301 Redirect for this Page’s URL”. When a visitor clicks that particular page, he would automatically redirected to website using your affiliate link.

Addition of New Hooks:-

Hooks concept was the main feature of Thesis theme that made this theme so popular. With Hooks Technique, you can do anything that you want without modifying and hard coding your theme files. Taking this step to next door, total four new hooks have been added to arsenal of hooks. Two hooks for post box and two hooks for content box. You have more designing control over you blog.

Improved Loading Speed of Theme:-

DO you know, 1.7 version of theme is faster than its predecessor. That is because combining the Header & Footer script box. Now Script in Header & Footer loads simultaneously and saves your time from delay loading.

These are the list of improved and new features in Thesis 1.7. We can expect tons of new functionality and improvement in Thesis 2.0. But for this version we have to wait.[adsense]

Until don’t waste your time and grab your copy of Thesis Theme before the release of 2.0 version. Because 2.0 version would have new price tag as predicted in official site of Thesis theme. With current price you will be more beneficial as the developer license of 2.0 version will more expensive.

Post plugin library is required for coding support of all plugins from Rob Marsh. We install popular post plugin to display our most popular post at the sidebar.

Activate the plugins and go to settingàPopular Post options. Here you will see lot of option for configuration. Configure them as per your need and click output to design the output template.

Add this code to output template,

Thesis has proved itself best of best theme for wordpress. It has all qualities that are in wish list of a blogger. Customization is special domain of thesis. Thesis has option to show the posts in teaser format. Thumbnail is not shown until or unless you have added the path of image in post image or thumbnail field.

Here we have a situation. What If you are using wordpress built-in image posting feature that is very feature rich and also adding the path of image in thesis theme “Post Image” field. If you add the image path in “Post Thumbnail” field to show the thumbnail in teaser, you have to resize and crop the image manually. So adding the image path in “Post Image” field will automate the cropping and resizing the image.

After viewing the post, you will notice that your post is showing two images, one by wordpress and second by thesis. What to do, how to resolve this problem?

Thanks to thesis custom function and custom CSS facility. We need to add a simple code to the custom.css file.

.post_image { display:none !important; }

Add this code in custom.css file and upload the file to your custom folder and hit refresh to view the change made by this piece of code.

Lets understand the logic behind this problem. Windows XP actually supports obsolete ATA hard drive technology and has no support for SATA hard drives while Vista is latest operating system. So windows vista has an edge over its predecessor and have drivers for Serial ATA (SATA).

It means that if  XP operating system recognizes SATA drive, windows will be installed on your vista specific machine.

In this article we have elaborated the process of updating the obsolete driver database of famous operating system to recognize latest hard drives.

Precautions:

But you should take some precaution while executing this project. Make back-up DVD of your system for future use and check the web for XP drivers. If required drivers are not found, installation of XP will not be beneficial, because operating system will not be able to use hardware resources efficiently. Just like integrated web cam, touchpad, built in W-Lan, Bluetooth and sound system will not work if their drivers are not available for Windows XP.

Lets start our work.

Tools we need for this project are.

• Nlite software for merging SATA drivers into Windows XP setup. Download latest version from www.nliteos.com
• Download freeware EASEUS Partition Master home edition from www.partation-tools.com/download.htm Windows vista has option to shrink the drives but this utility has limitation and will limit you after certain resizing. With EASEUS, you can easily resize/shrink/delete or create partition without any limitation and without any error.
• You need blank CD for writing purpose.
• Last but not the least, Windows XP installation source CD.

These are the necessary tools we require for our bootable Windows XP CD.

Step #1. Copy and paste all files and folders from Windows XP installation CD to local hard drive.

Step #2. Now gather some info about our machine. Click Start–>All Programs–>Accessories–>System Tools and click system information. A new window will occur, click the link conflicts/sharing. After some time information will be displayed in right pane. Now in file menu click save to save the hardware infor in text form for information.

Step #3. In right pane, you have noticed some information. For Intel motherboard based computers you will see something like this, ICHx. Where x denotes number ranging from 7 to 10. E.g ICH10. In my system I have ICH9. This is the part of our hardware needs to fixed in Windows XP. Now goto Intel web site and down load driver for this south bridge. Download driver for ICH9 Here. Driver will be in compressed form and have name like in pic below.

Step #4. Install Nlite and run the program. Guide this program to Windows XP installation source. Nlite will recognize and show you the information related to Windows XP source.

Step #5. Click next and you will see a next screen. Just click next button and skip it.

Next screen is very important and have many options. For our main purpose click bootable iso and drivers’ button. Both buttons will highlight. Click next.

Step #6. We have downloaded driver for our south bridge (ICH9) that was compressed. Using proper compression software like winrar, extract it to a folder. Here you will see many files extracted from that compressed folder.

Step #7. Come back to nlite and click import button. Click on single driver, locate extracted folder and you will see two files. Click on iaAHCI file to import. You will see a new window.

Step #8. Make sure text mode option is selected. Now Select all by CTRL+A and click next. Integration process will start. After completing the driver merging process click next, you will see next screen.

Step #9. If you want to save image and burn later chose save image or choose direct write option. Leave all other options on default and wait for burning process completion.

Congrats, you have created bootable Windows XP CD with SATA driver support. Your vista machine is now ready for Windows XP installation.
