Blogging is a world of sharing ideas, thoughts and a way to build your own community. A person who just has started blogging is known as NewBie. They are novice bloggers and learn from time to time. While Probloggers are established bloggers who are considered to be an authority in their niche. So what are main differences in problogger and a newbie blogger? What are the factors that differentiate a novice blogger from a problogger?
They have Clear Idea of their Niche:-
Problogger know their niche well and concentrate to write on their niche. Their articles target their niche from various aspects. So when we see a blogger is clear about his niche, his articles are not contradicting their niche, it’s a clue of problogger. Mashable and Problogger is clear example of it. Both are well known for their respective niches and write only for their domain of interest.
Loyal Readers:-
Probloggers have large number of loyal readers. Their readers visit again and again to read the articles. Mashable and problogger has large number of loyal visitors. Mashable has in hundred thousand RSS feed subscribers. And if we look at newbies’ stat, they have fewer subscribers. Probloggers also have low bounce rate as compared to novice blogger.
Good SEO:-
A novice blogger is not aware of playing with search engine so their site is not search engine optimized. In contrast, Probloggers rule on top page and enjoy free traffic from search engines. They carefully select keywords and avoid cheap one. Low quality keywords cause in increased bounce rate.
More Exposure:-
One more factor that brings problogger in limelight is their exposure. They have sound knowledge of their niche and due to full time blogging they have more exposure. They can easily write ton of articles on a topic of their interest.
Better Ranking:-
Novice bloggers lag behind in terms of ranking. They have low PR and Alexa ranking. Their blog even don’t exist in Technorati. Probloggers has higher Page rank and Alexa ranking. This is a strong indicator of a problogger. They enjoy high PR which also helps them being on top of SERP.
Earning from Blog:-
Probloggers enjoy their credibility and earn up to six figures from their blog. They easily attract affiliate marketers, advertising agencies and other sources of income. While newbies struggle for their survival and spend a lot on their site promotion.
Social Networking:-
No doubt, that Probloggers have very sound social networking. They have large reader base, people subscribe to their feeds. Follow them on Twitter and Digg every story related to them. Their stories don’t take much time to be popular on Digg and StumbleUpon.

Probloggers receive a lot of comments from their readers who feel happy to express their view about their article. Without any problem they get 50+ comments on their single article. Isn’t it a clue of a problogger?

Hi Imran,
Well written and to the point! I’ll add one here. The sign of a Pro-Blogger is they use comment links to influence others. I term this “Comment Blogging”.
A sure sign of a clueless Blogger ……… “Great Post”. I delete those type of comments! If you’re going to comment on my Blog, at least have the professional courtesy to provide quality comments to strengthen my Blog as well as yours.
By the way Imran, I appreciate your re-tweets of my material ……… another sign of a Pro Blogger!!!!!
