Every blogger wants to monetize his blog in an effective way. A mix of various options is available to generate the cash from blog. We have even alternates for an option to try and use. Google Adsense is very simple and is on top of list to use. Without any strict conditions, a novice and even new blogs may try Google Adsense.
Google Adsense is very sophisticated and advanced advertisement system. It offers various types of ads including text ads, flash, video and picture ads. These ads are offered in default style and formatting which is major cause of low income generation for the blog.
We are targeting this issue through a deep research of the causes. Causes that make such successful system a less productive. All these tips and tricks will also increase CTR of your blog.
Font Colour:-
Default font colour of Adsense ad is black. If you are using other than black colour for your site or blog, you need to set the font of ad according to your sites’ font colour.
Font Size & Style:-
After setting font colour, it is time to set font style & size. Apply same style & size to ad font as you have on your site. This trick will make the ad just like it is part of your site.
Ad Title Colour:-
Don’t forget to change the colour of title from default. Make the colour of title similar to the colour of your texts’ tile. If the title colour doesn’t match with your sites’ scheme, it will alert the traffic no to click.
Ad URL Colour:-
Most important part of Google Adsense is URL colour of the ad. It will make the ad to easily identify if its URL colour is not changed from default blue colour. Double check the ad URL colour to match with your sites’ link colour.
Borders of Ad:-
My opinion is to change ads’ border to transparent or blend it with your sites’ background. Suppose your site has white background, set the border colour to white (#FFFFFF). It will blend the border colour with page background and your ad will totally merge with your sites’ content.
Avoid using Adsense Default Colour Scheme.
This is major cause of low income generation from Google Adsense. In 100% cases, default style of ad is totally different as to sites layout which makes the ad more prominent among the page content and text. Thus default style prevents the clicks and ultimately results in fewer revenues. [adsense]So it’s necessary to blend the ad with page background so that it seems a part of your post or article. Visitors will feel that these ads are the part of your site text and they click it.
These are the just tricks to blend the whole ad in your sites’ content so that you have maximum CTR.

All very good tips. You missed probably the most important 2 tips (IMHO) though. Ad placement, and ad size.
The ads usually perform better directly under the post title, and the large text ad seems to do the best there from my tests. 336 or 350 size.
Also, depending on the niche, adsense cam be a waste of time (most blogging blogs don’t get many ads clicked, well, because bloggers don’t usually click adsense ads)

I don’t think we can suggest a particular size or border color or font color or link etc. In fact, it depends upon the type of traffic and the type of content on your size.
Through my experience for http://www.psexam.com surprisingly, the wide skyscrapers are returning most clicks than to the ads blended inside posts. The ads are intentionally different than the site design. When I have used blue, green and black color for my links, titles and text, I choose red color for adsense ads. This is the result of lots of try and observe. Finally I have settled with this contrasting format for ads than to the content.
When the ads are blended with site design, they will just read and ignore. I don’t expect clicks for the links I have posted on my articles. My experience has shown very little clicks on links inside article. So, Ads are thrown outside to the normal content area and emphasised with contrasting color scheme. This is returning good.
So, all we can suggest the new bloggers and publishers is to try different things and observe for some time then change to next before finalizing.

Changing border colour, text colour etc is for text ads, ad we can easily change the colour for your adsense account.
Success of Adsense for your blog is actually a series of Hit and Trial method. When you blend the ad in your sites’ content, they appear in a shape of listed options and seems the part of your content, becuase adsense deliver the ads according to the text in which it is placed. So ads looks very natural and give the feel like you have gave some links to support your content. And thus we have click on it. Just observe this method in all blogs. 99% sites have adsense colour according to their sites’ colour scheme. As i already said, i have started a series of post of optimising the adsense. My next post would be on type of ads generating highest revenue.
and i agree with your that skyscrapers generate more clicks. Becuase most adwords advertisers use them for best visual and pay handsome amount for skyscrapers as compared to other text links.
I’ve tried to integrate Adsense as seamlessly as possible on blogs, but have never been very successful. I’ll have to keep trying, haha.

Hey, Ryan, your blogs’ stat shows that most of your traffic is from US which is a plus point. Blend Google Adsense ads in your site and observe the outcome. Place ads under the site header, a 350 x 200 in content and give it a try. You will succeed.
These are sone very useful points, adsense can be a very huge money maker for many blogs and to reach your sites full potential you need to experiment with positions and ad unit sizes until you find the mist effective layout.
Though avoiding the default colours is only neccesary if it clashes against your site. like you said you should use colours that match your blog. The key there is to make it look like the ads are a part of your site.

Hey Huey, you got the idea of maximizing the earning from site. Applying site colour scheme to adsense make google ads as a part of your blog/site. So chances are higher that these ads got click.
