I Know 11 Killer Reasons of Blog Failure

by Bobby Jay

Blogging is a way to express your ideas, knowledge or to promote your business. Every new blog faces hardships in start and some leave blogging after giving it a try. Building your brand, promoting and maintaining it, is very tough job and require passion and dedication. I am mentioning two points to memorize.

If you don’t have passion, don’t start blogging, you are wasting your resources and money.

In start of your blogging career, you will disappoint. So never ever give up. Try, try and try it again. Suddenly and idea will flash in your mind and you will know how to make your blog a successful blog.

There are other very important factors, besides above two points to remember, that play a vital role in your blog failure.

General or Blog on Niche:-

Observation says that blogs on niche are more successful as compared to general blogs. General Blogs attract less attention and requires more work and research to touch every idea. You have to cover many areas and topics. Proper priority is not given to the important topics hence readers lose their interest in reading the blog. So try to select a blog on Niche.

Wrong Niche Selection:-

Ok, now when you have decided to blog on some niche, one another problem arises, that is selection of niche. A common problem with Newbies is, they select wrong niche and unknowingly, they kill their blog and brand. Select proper niche according to your interest or objective. There are highly paid niches but you might have no interest in that.

I Want to make Money from it, like others:-

Though monetization is not major factor in blog failure, but it is. Novice bloggers actually do wrong and a lot of monetization which make their blog less reader friendly and ugly. Monetization of blog is not a bad thing, but do it at proper time and at proper location of your blog.

How Frequent should I Post:-

It’s my advice for new bloggers to install calendar plugin for WordPress to plan the schedule for your posting. Make a strategy for posting frequency and strictly follow it. Your readers will get familiarize with your posting frequency. Infrequent or too low posts will definitely kill your blog. So keep a good number of posts per week or per month. It will increase your number of posts and also reduce bounce rate as the user has a good inventory of articles to read.

Its my Style:-

Create your own writing style and do not change it. Let your readers to familiarize with your writing style for their ease. Use short paragraphs and limit one paragraph to one idea only.

My Readers don’t like my blog:-

I always try to play some trick that is beneficial for my blog and then I share it with you, if I find it successful.

Why not to motivate your readers to leave comments and subscribe to your feeds via RSS or mail. Use comments plugin; give them free copy of e-book on XYZ. By doing this you will build a list of e-mails which you can further use for automatic notification of your new posts via e–mail.

I Just Blog, it’s my Hobby:-

Without any idea or theme, majority of failed bloggers start blogging. They don’t have a clear idea for their blog. They frequently change their site title and tag which shows they started their blog without any clear idea.

Am I supposed to Market it:-

It is very much clear that without marketing you will lose. Your blog will die if you are not doing planned marketing. In start of your blogging, give at least 50% time to market your blog. It doesn’t matter how much you write unique content or pillar article. If you haven’t any traffic, you will lose heart. Stay away from this stage.

What is Social Networking?

Use of Twitter, Digg, Stumbleupon, Facebook and Friendfeed is life blood for a blog. New bloggers either don’t know about these services or underestimate their benefits. Make friends, share your creativity and enjoy high volume of traffic.

I used my Full Potential:-

Do you know, novice bloggers don’t put their best efforts in their blogs’ success though they think they have exerted their best of best in the blog. They waste their time in non-productive activities and in site stats. After few hours they exhaust and think that they have done nothing. Just analyze your whole day performance and observe how many articles you have written. You spend couple of hours on your site but not used it productively.

I know you are Working Alone:-

You might have heard “No man is an Island”. So find a partner for help and divide workload. Best way is to divide marketing and content writing work and exchange your assignments after some time. One should write and second one market it and build social network.

Great list. I think a lot of blogs fail because their creators didn’t realise how much effort they would need to put in to make it succeed – so they quit.

Great article! Novice bloggers always try to monetize their blog first. They all forget its all about passion. When you’ve got passion about your blog, everything else will follow with hard work .

I’m not that hurried to earn from my blog but after all I need to manage some money to host and to renew domain. I know I won’t get any advertisements till my blog is quite popular.

I agree with you but I hope one advertisement unit in a post won’t be too much for readers as well.

Such titles work as appetizer. If I craft such a title which reveals all thing, reader won’t be eager to read the article. We need to increase interest of our readers.
